The Ramazzini Institute / March 11, 2019 A new study (1) has found that exposure to glyphosate-based herbicides (GBHs), including Roundup, caused reproductive and developmental effects in both male and female rats, at a dose level currently considered safe in the U.S. (1.75 mg/kg bw/day).

(1.75 mg/kg bw/day).

New research conducted in some of Washington’s most productive agricultural regions suggests glyphosate, the active ingredient in the popular herbicide Roundup, could be linked to more people dying from Parkinson’s disease before they turn 75. (Bron.) Help South-Africa against the field release of three GM Maize´s. One of the ingredients of the herbicide Das-40278 where these maize´s have resistance to, is 2,4-D and was invented in the chemical boom during World War II, making it one of the oldest herbicides that’s still legally on the market today. It was one of the two active ingredients in Agent Orange, the notorious Vietnam War defoliant. (Source). Quote: “The recent EFSA opinions published in January 2019, deal with two approval applications for maize developed through cross-breeding to combine several genetically engineered traits. The plants are resistant to up to four groups of herbicides (glyphosate, glufosinate, 2,4-D and AOPP) and produce up to six insecticides.” Source: Testbiotech, 02-26-2019.
The first mentioned maize will be planted in South Africa, you can still have your say, also on 2 other maize´s to be planted.

Source: eFarmnewsar Posted by News Room | Feb 18, 2019. “Thus, we reject statements suggesting that the GMO contamination could be originated in Argentina, (..) where no source of possible contamination exists”, the press release adds. Anyway, the INASE decided to suspend new rapeseed exports until this incident is clarified.
COGEM: “The requested authorisation covers import and processing of T45 resulting from the commercialisation of T45 in other countries until 2005 (adventitious presence). COGEM is of the opinion that the adventitious (=toevallig) presence of T45 in commodity rapeseed poses a negligible risk to the environment in the Netherlands.
